Glory to God (song)

Glory to God, now on high
Glory to God, when we die
Glory to God, in our strife
Glory to God, in our life
Praises exalting on high
Praises now drawing us nigh
For His wondrous love
Coming to us from above

God in His glory we praise
Anthems to Him now we rise
Love to our Father we sing
Praises and glory, we bring
Now and forever we are
Children of God, praise the Lord
Praise our Lord
Praise our Lord
Praise our Lord

Refrain:

Praise our Lord
Praise our Lord
Praise our Lord
Praise our Lord
Praise our Lord
Praise our Lord
Praise His name.

The Vine

The Lord commands us to stay on the vine and bear fruit,
not to falter and fall, nor weaken at every turn.
Be strong - on His mighty name to call.
When life becomes rough and trials seems to overcome
think of the Cross of Calvary;
You’ll recall were you’re coming from.
Stay on the vine and bear much fruit
from morning to eve,
knowing the Savior holds your hand - He nevermore will leave.
If you start to shrivel and dry up fast,
Say: "Get behind me, Satan!"
You will win the victory, at last.

But Once

We live here but once, so His glory proclaims
tell all the world the wonders of His love.
Fill all men ’s hearts with your spirit-filled self,
your days walk with Jesus, blessed from above.

Morning Prayer

A morning prayer your child now prays -
keep me safe all through my days;
Put an angel shield around me tight,
all day long, and all through the night.
From the devious Devil keep me free
so I may spend all my days with thee;
Those I love, keep them free from harm
in the protection of Thy loving arm;
Send us the Angels then, at last
when the earth becomes my past,
to Heaven ascending with the Heavenly Host,
praising forever, Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

The Crossing

I stopped at a crossing the other day,
there were two ways for me to go:
A sign to the right said Heaven, above,
to the left it said, Hell below.
I hesitated not a moment, but hastened on to God -
this was the straight and narrow, the path my father’s trod.

Our Decision

Our Jesus was taken up into the sky
He is there to prepare our mansions on high.
We are to believe in His resurrection and birth,
the only salvation for mortals on earth.
We cope in this life with dangers from Hell
with stories of promise
false teachings they tell.
The Devil runs wild, offering material riches and fame
false prophets appearing under his name
strange cults and potions, temptations, much wealth
eventually leading to unhappiness and bad health.
The Devil and his angels offer greatness for all,
the old, the young,
he wants them to fall.
Go with him and you will endlessly room
in a fiery furnace, and this will be your home.
Only believe, God sent His only Son
Raised up from the dead -
your battle is done.
So now the triune God and His wondrous love
is waiting for us and that mansions above.
With the spirit of God, His love is your life
you are free of Satan, Hell, worry and strife.

Learn From A Child

You will learn from a child, my dear friend,
let your barriers down, to their height descend.
If you watch them very closely, you will see the love of God
in the precious moments of waking or in the slumbers gentle nod.
A child is simple and has play, he is generous with his love,
he radiates his actions through his Creator, up above.
The happy way he asks you the why’s -
the endless care of worry and sighs.
He lives each day so happy and free;
through his works of love we should also see
it’s a merrier situation, so you’d better act your best;
follow your good example, your child will do the rest.

Grandma and God

Grandma, I want to go out in the field today,
in the ridges and rocks and holes - to play
with the little bunnies, mice and moles.
But to cross the street is a mountainous worry,
’Cuz my little body is small and all the cars are in a hurry.
So if you will come and take my hand and I can go across
and on the other side stand real nice and safe, ’cuz
you were there and a big problem I had with you I could share.
So, it is for big ones, a hand we need to hold
when our souls tremble, and our world seems to fold;
as a child looks to Grandma and in his simple love you need,
we look to our Heavenly Father, bodies and souls to feed.
In the great love of all ages He sees His children’s woes,
and in His love, He harbors us from all our earthly woes.

Easter

Our Lord knocks at your door -
Are you home? Are you home?
Our Jesus calls you by name -
Do you answer? Do you answer?
As Jesus walks with the lowly -
Are you there? Are you there?
Our Jesus walks in rough places -
Are you there? Are you there?
The Savior ministers to the sick and dying -
Are you there? Are you there?
Our Savior leads us down the straight road -
Do you follow? Do you follow?
Our Savior died on the cross for us -
Were you there? Were you there?
Our Savior rose triumphantly -
Do you know the joy? Do you know the joy?
Our Jesus prepares now our home on high -
Will you be there? Will you be there?

Some Day

I suffer no cold when the winter is drear,
I am warmed by His love, ever so near.
I suffer no fear when the Heavens shake,
it’s only the Devil, a deceitful fake.
I suffer no drear when my end drawls near
for I will then see my Jesus. Oh, so dear!
